Ha Dahamar Shrine / The Water Guides – BotW

Ha Dahamar Shrine is commonly one of the first Shrines people encounter when playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild after completing the Great Plateau. It is also commonly the first stable-accompanying shrine players will encounter. Here’s how to complete it!

Location

Ha Dahamar is located just east of the Dueling Peaks in a shallow pond of water near a stable. To access the entrance to the shrine you need to use a cryonis pillar given that the shrine is completely surrounded by some sort of spiky plant. Not too difficult, just be careful of the angle of which you jump as it’s easy to just jump onto the spikes accidentally and take damage anyway!

Walkthrough

This shrine is based on the concept of using cryonis to advance further and is comprised of two sections. The first of the two includes creating cryonis pillars to use as stepping stones and the second is controlling the fall of a shrine orb to its hole.

Stepping Stones

When you enter the shrine, you will be in full view of the first section. Begin by walking to the nearby waterfall and pool of water. Place a cryonis pillar on the flat, continuous level of water to climb to the next platform. Next, you’ll have to place the cryonis pillar on the waterfall itself to rise to the third platform; you can use two if you’d like but one will suffice. Now, before rushing ahead, I recommend you turn around. Destroy the cryonis you just used and place two more to ascend to a chest on a higher platform containing a Purple Rupee – very handy this early on!

Leading the Orb

Next, walk to the top of the stairs – or the midpoint, your choice I guess – and face the large waterfall puzzle to your right. Along the wall are several blocks and seesaws which form the broken path that the shrine orb needs to take. Use cryonis to prevent the orb from falling after rolling along the first straight and then place another beneath the raised side of the seesaw so the orb doesn’t push it down and fall. Finally, place a third cryonis pillar between the seesaw and the hole so the orb rolls on top of it and lands in the correct destination!

From here, all you need to do is wait for the orb to fall and the gate to open, walk through the short pathway and receive the Spirit Orb from Monk Ha Dahamar!
