Toto Sah Shrine / Toto Sah Apparatus – BotW

The Toto Sah Shrine is one of the less memorable shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and is usually one of the last shrines I complete in the game – mostly because I forget it exists. But that means that it’s the perfect Shrine to make a Walkthrough, let’s go!

Location

The Toto Sah Shrine is located in the southern area of the Dueling Peaks Region, south-south-east of the Dueling Peaks Stable and south-west of Hickaly Woods. The shrine itself is inside a cave the other side of the stream in between Hickaly Woods and Angel Peak – this river is a tributary of Squabble River. The cave’s entrance is blocked by bombable boulders, to solve this problem: either use a bomb arrow or cryonis and remote bombs.

Walkthrough

When you first enter the Shrine, you’ll see an apparatus machine which is tied to the first puzzle. The first puzzle is – as is common with the firsts – the easiest. All you need to do is activate the apparatus and flip the block upside-down. The side facing the other side of the path has a chest, flip the block the right way to unlock the contents: a Shield of the Mind’s Eye.

The next puzzle is somewhat trickier but still easy, all you have to do is rotate the staircase, again using the apparatus, and align all three of them. Then rotate the whole staircase again to form a path from your platform to the next.

Finally, walk to the most puzzling puzzle. The first thing you need to do is use the apparatus to rotate the mess of blocks all the way around so you can see the back. Align the platform with the chest and two torches with the top of your platform so you can walk and reach the chest. Walk over to it and collect the small key.

Re-rotate the mess of blocks so the set of stairs has fallen to the right. Align the whole thing so you can walk up the stairs from the end of your platform and climb the mess. Walk to the other side and use your paraglider if necessary to reach the final area.

Use the small key to unlock the gate shielding the monk and receive the Spirit Orb from Monk Toto Sah.
