Tahno O’ah Shrine / Tahno O’ah’s Blessing / Secret of the Cedars- BotW

The Tahno O’ah Shrine is where the Climber’s Boots are acquired in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild making it one of the more desirable shrines in the game. Let’s see how it’s done.

Locations(s)

The Secret of the Cedars Shrine Quest is acquired by speaking to Clavia in Hateno Village who is behind the dye Shop at day time. She will tell you that she knows of a legend about some treasure hidden in the mountains and has this clue:

“When the three summit trees become one, turn your back to them and head toward the sea.”

– Clavia

The way to find this treasure is to view the three cedar trees on the map and follow them towards the ocean until you see a small platform on the mountain. This area houses the shrine.

Now all you need to do is reach the shrine and blow up the rocks guarding it. The Shrine itself is a blessing so all it contains is a chest and the monk surrounded by a small and shallow body of water. The chest contains the Climber’s Boots which partnered with the whole set are amazing for climbing even in the rain, though climbing in the rain is easy if you know how.

As to how you reach the shrine, it’s easy to reach if you fast travel to the Jitan Sa’mi shrine on top of Mt. Lanayru and glide down. If you haven’t already unlocked this shrine, I recommend following the path leading from the Lanayru Promenade and climbing the mountain from there. There is a Lynel so if you want to avoid just walk around or you can learn to fight it from our Tips for attacking a Lynel.

And that’s it! Congratulations, you have completed the Tahno O’ah Shrine!
