As the first Shrine many players encounter in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it is both the easiest and the toughest. Here’s how to complete it without any trouble!
Location
The Oman Au Shrine is located in the north-east of the Great Plateau, north of the Great Plateau Tower. After erecting the Tower from the ground, it is the first shrine that the Old Man directs you to.
If you have installed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC, there is a chest containing a ruby just to the left of the shrine! I recommend acquiring this as you can sell this jewel for 210 rupees which will definitely help you later on!
Walkthrough
As you enter the shrine, you will see three things: the guidance stone on the left which will upload Magnesis to the Sheikah Slate; two metal plates and a gate between the 1st and 3rd rooms. The first thing you are going to do is download Magenesis from the guidance stone located to your left.
Next, use the L button on the top left of your controller to activate Magnesis. Using either the right joystick or by tilting your controller, aim magnesis towards either of the metal plates, preferably the one on the left as it is the one above the path. The plate should turn from a reddish-pink to yellow when you have aimed properly; from here, press A to activate the magnetic beam. Lift the plate and jump down to the corridor.
Walk through the corridor and enter the next room. Ahead of you should be several stone blocks with one integrated metal block. Use magnesis to grasp the metal one but don’t let go. This is a tiny bit advanced, but you can use the block to squash your first guardian and avoid a nasty battle!
Walk across the metal bridge, and magnesis it to use the it again to overcome the second gap. To your left is a chest containing a Traveler’s Bow, magnesis the chest to move it towards you in order to acquire the bow!
Magnesis the large metal door – usually aggressively – and walk through to the final room containing the monk! Attain the Spirit Orb and leave. You have completed your first shrine!
