This glitch in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild allows you to acquire the Master Sword immediately after the Great Plateau and without entering a single shrine or Divine Beast! The only things you’ll need are a bundle of wood and a method to ignite it!
Setting up the Glitch
To begin with, you’ll need the following:
- Bundle of Wood.
- Something to ignite the wood, e.g. Fire Arrow, Flame Blade, Flint + Weapon etc. etc.
- At least one empty space in your melee weapons inventory.
Place the bundle of wood near to the Master Sword and ignite as shown in the video, make sure you can click rest and pull by only moving a few pixels between the campfire and the Sword. Stand near to both of them and make sure you’re going to rest rather than pull, and look directly up and the blossom. Rest by the fire and spam, (press repeatedly very quickly), A. You should pick up the Master Sword immediately after resting. Bam!
Glitch Explanation
What happens during the Master Sword glitch is actually quite interesting! The Master Sword is still an item and so has an option to be picked up, however, also tied to it is a cutscene trigger which requires you to have 13 hearts and therefore prevents you from acquiring the Sword with 12 or less hearts. However, performing this glitch unloads the cutscene trigger for a couple of frames, at which point you are spamming A and therefore picking up the Master Sword without activating the cutscene!
I hope you enjoyed this article and I hope you find it useful! This trick definitely makes it way easier to battle enemies and Divine Beasts!
