Tu Ka’loh Shrine / Trial of the Labyrinth / Tu Ka’loh’s Blessing – BotW

The Tu Ka’loh Shrine is one of the more memorable shines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as it is in a Labyrinth far away and is protected by many Guardians. Here’s how to complete it!

Location

Walkthrough of Tu Ka’loh Shrine

From the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, you can Wind Bomb to the Lomei Labyrinth Island as it is the fastest of travel and will get you there in no time; you can learn how to Wind Bomb from out Guide to Wind Bombs (BotW)! If you don’t reach the actual platform, there should be an updraft below the area from the sea that you can use to glide up.

Tu Ka’loh Shrine

There are four Guardian Skywatchers in the four quadrants, they are above the walls of the Labyrinth. There is also a Guardian Stalker in the center of the area on the ground floor. Once you’ve defeated the Stalker, it’s time to traverse the Labyrinth.

Walk over to the North-Western area of the middle section and follow the below instructions:

1. Walk through and take a right.
2. Take another right when you reach the metal block.
3. Don’t take the next left.
4. Take two rights and then follow the path all the way to two torches and a ladder.
5. Walk up the steps and set the thorns on the right on fire.
6. Climb up the wall and follow the path to find a Great Flameblade.
7. Once you have the flameblade, continue along the path you were before to get to the Shrine.

Once you’ve finally reached the Shrine, enter to find the Shrine to find it to be a Blessing. The chest in the middle has one of the Barbarian set of clothing, the other two pieces of the set can be found in the other Lomei Labyrinths across Hyrule: one in Hebra and one in Gerudo! Climb a couple of steps and acquire the Spirit Orb from the Shrine’s Monk!

The Cellar of Guardians

Once you’ve completed the Shrine, there is something else you may wanna do…

There is a hole just in front of the Shrine that leads to a downstairs chamber. The chamber is full of guardians though which are all asleep so appear dead. In the center of the chamber, there is a chest containing a diamond circlet, but opening the chest will trigger all the Guardians to awaken and fire at will, so I recommend defeating all of them one by one and then opening the chest.

If you have the DLC, there will be another chest at the southern end of the chamber which contains the Travel Medallion! This is personally one of my favourite parts of the game and definitely the best part of the DLC as it can allow you to save your location to teleport back to at a later time, this is perfect for Shrine Quests, Divine Beasts, DLC Shrine, etc. It’s honestly great!
