The Ritaag Zumo Shrine is one of those Shrines that can be really easy or really hard in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Here’s how to complete it!
Location
The Ritaag Zumo Shrine is located in the Rist Peninsula, north-east of Tarrey Town, South of the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab and far north-east of the Akkala Tower. You can easily see it on the map, it’s the massive vortex of land on the right coast of Akkala.
Into the Vortex
The Ritaag Zumo Shrine is locked underground in the center of the Vortex and in order to unlock it you need to bring the Sheikah Orb located east of Malin Bay – the entrance of the Vortex – to the Sheikah pedestal which is at the center. You learn this by reading a Stone Slab next to the orb which reads:
“Only a hero bearing this ancient orb shall be granted the right of trial on Rist Peninsula.”

However, in the way of you are many Bokoblins, Moblins and Lizalfos which will make it very difficult to carry the orb over. To solve this, you have a few options:
- Defeat all of the enemies along the Vortex and then bring the orb to the plate – pray for no blood moons!
- If you have the DLC you can find Majora’s Mask in the Kolomo Garrison Ruins which will make the enemies think you’re not a threat. You’ll be able to walk right through.
- Use all of the masks from Kilton at different times to make the enemies think you’re not a threat.
- Throw the Orb into the water and use Cryonis to lift it over and over until you reach the center.
- Stasis launch it from the place where you found the orb and try and aim it for the center.
All of the options will work but I recommend the Majora’s Mask and/or the Orb and Cryonis. If you’re good at Stasis launching though, Stasis launch it!
